Industry Meeting “Food & Beverage 2013”

Siemens Industry RD East organized for the second time the conference „Food & Beverage 2013“. The end-customer forum has taken place on 14th November 2013, at the Porsche plant in Leipzig. The goal of the event was to create a dialog between end-customers and solution partners. The exchange of ideas enabled the building of networks that should result in a firm partnership.

Different guest lectures presented valuable input. The trend setter guest speaker was Prof. Dr. Eßlinger from the “TU Bergakademie Freiberg”. He explained the current trends concerning the reduction of the energy costs in breweries. Additionally speakers explained and raised the audience awareness for important issues:

  • the political challenges which the F&B industry faces

  • the necessity of implementing a certified system for  energy management

  • cost reductions and environmental protection with the aid of a an effective energy management

All six lectures offered crucial impulses to optimize processes in the food and beverage industry and were suitable links to the following microfair .  At the exhibition stands, participants could exchange views and make new contacts. Final highlight of the day was a guided tour through the Porsche plant. Insights into the modern production of sports cars delighted the participants.

The end customer forum is a unique concept offered by Siemens. End customers and solution partners enter into a dialog in a rather informal setting. Lectures show end-customers how they can improve their production process. New contacts are established or intensified and new partnerships are formed.
