Working closely with the lower-level I/O process devices, the TELEPERM M automation system (AS) uses sensors to detect signals from the process and processes these according to the user program created for the application. Depending on the result of the processing, it uses output signals to control the actuators of the process.

Over the years a series of TELEPERM M automation systems were developed that differ in terms of their range of functions, performance, structure (cabinet systems/compact systems/SIMATIC design) and architecture (single/redundant).

  • AS 220 S/K/H,

  • AS 215,

  • AS 230/230 K,

  • AS 235/235 K/235 H,

  • AS 388/TM,

  • AS 488/TM incl. the versions AS 488S and AS 488K.

Most of these systems have already been either totally discontinued or are spare part only. The range of types has already been substantially reduced since 1996 by the modernization with AS 488/TM while at the same time supporting the existing TELEPERM I/O devices. Since then the TELEPERM I/O devices, which are generally operated in the immediate environment of the automation system, have been expanded by the AS 488/TM and the PROFIBUS also by the distributed ET200 I/O devices or PROFIBUS PA field devices.
The product range of the TELEPERM I/O modules includes:

  • Signal modules for inputting and outputting process signals

  • Function and arithmetic modules with self-sufficient processing capacity for controls or individual user functions.
