Invitation to the 1st Lunch & Learn in Brightlands Chemelot Campus, Geleen

We invite you to our 1 st Lunch & Learn event in Geleen with the topic "Chemical Reactors - from Design to safe Operation" on Friday 25th of October 2019.

Chemical processes are dominated by the conversion and selectivity of the involved chemical reactions. Therefore, a good reactor design is of high value for the process, although the reactor’s share at the overall equipment costs is normally low. The kinetics of wanted and unwanted reactions are the basis not only for the reactor design but also for the safeguarding of chemical processes. This applies to both newand modified processes.

In the first presentation Dr. Frank Olschewski, Senior Consultant of Siemens Engineering & Consulting will present the varying depth of chemical kinetics evaluation in industrial applications with three different examples.

Afterwards Dr. Bert Vollbrecht, Head of the Siemens Process Safety department, will cover the assessment of chemical reactions on the basis of safety relevant data and measures to enable the safe operation. Classical protective measures as well as options for modern protection concepts will be discussed.
