ERTEC: High performance Industrial Ethernet ASICs
Ready for real-time Ethernet
The ASICs of the ERTEC family are Ethernet controllers based on ARM 9 processors with integrated IRT switch. Requirements for real-time capability, linear topology capability and for IT integration are therefore met perfectly.
Cyclical data transfer for PROFINET with Real Time (RT) and Isochronous Real Time (IRT) is processed entirely by the integrated switch. In this way, there are sufficient process resources remaining to process applications of simpler field devices in the ARM processor.
Different development kits are available for developing field devices with ERTEC ASICs. Getting started is made easy using a simple application example.
The ERTEC 200P sets new standards for PROFINET communication performance. The ERTEC 200P was designed for cycle times up to 31.25 μs and for the first time integrates the performance upgrade for PROFINET. With a fast ARM 926 CPU and more interfaces, it integrates more power in less space. This means you can integrate additional application components on the ERTEC 200P in addition to PROFINET communication.
The ERTEC 200 implements field devices with IRT and isochronous cycle times of up to 250 μs. Implemented devices can be used in line structures with the ERTEC 200 by means of the integrated 2-port switch.
The ERTEC 400 offers 4 integrated ports and an integrated PCI interface for the development of network components and field devices with high requirements on communication options. Just as with the ERTEC 200, you can reach cycle times of 250 µs with IRT for the ERTEC 400
