Applications

The functional examples for "Safety Integrated" are functional, tested automation configurations based on standard A&D products that allow automation tasks for safety applications to be implemented in a quick, easy, and cost-effective manner. Each of these functional examples looks at a common sub-activity of a typical problem with safety technology experienced by customers.

As well as listing all the required software/hardware components and describing how they are interconnected, the functional examples contain the tested, commented code. In this way, the functions described here can be easily simulated to provide a basis for customized upgrades.

The Siemens functional examples contain

  • functional, tested, and practical safety functions

  • List of all the required software/hardware components and a description of how they are interconnected

  • tested and commented code

  • Assessment of the listed safety functions to EN 62061 and EN ISO 13849-1: 2006
