    The objective is precise and fast control of processes that typically involve several coupled input and output variables as well as measurable disturbances

    In the accompanying example, two lower-level PID control circuits in a cascade structure are operated using MPC.

    Requirements for the tutorial

    The tutorial requires the following:

    • Engineering station (ES)

    • SIMATIC PCS 7 V7.1 SP1

    • PCS 7 project "Distillation column"

    • S7 PLCSIM V5.4 or higher
