The APF engineering tool is used to define project-specific data for the APF modules such as material classes, required material types, material lots, as well as the materials themselves, and to save it in user archives. The automation system uses AS function blocks to access the user archive. These blocks are generated by the APF Engineering Tool based on the project specifications, and can be easily interconnected by the user. The configured data can be controlled and monitored during process control using process pictures and faceplates.
