SIMATIC ET 200SP also enables safety-related communication. The safety modules for DI and DO conform with the standard modules in terms of size. Their functional safety is certified in accordance with EN 61508 and they are designed for safety-related use at up to SIL3 according to EN 62061 and PL e according to ISO 13849.  One particular feature of the F-modules of SIMATIC ET 200SP is that the F-addresses no longer have to be set manually by means of the DIL switches on the module. They are now assigned by means of the engineering during commissioning which simplifies the setting process and saves time.

With SIMATIC ET 200SP, hot swapping is also possible in the case of multiple modules (multi hot swapping). This means that several modules can be removed and replaced at the same time during system operation. In this way, only the affected modules are out of service and not the entire station. This reduces downtimes and raises productivity, as unaffected system components of the ET 200SP continue in operation.

AS-Interface is the simple and effective bus system that links all sensors and actuators of the lowest field level with the ET 200SP or a higher-level controller by means of a yellow two-wire cable – and this can all now be done on a safety-related basis by means of ASIsafe.
The CM AS-i master in the ET 200SP permits the connection of up to 62 sensors and actuators. And with the AS-I Safety Module the AS-I network can be expanded safely without additional wiring in SIL3 according to EN 62061 and PL e according to ISO 13849. Both standard and safety-related data can be exchanged completely and transparently via PROFINET or PROFIBUS and AS-Interface.


IO-Link

IO Link

IO-Link ensures uniform interfacing of switching devices, sensors or RFID devices with the control level using a cost-effective point-to-point link. The IO Link master SIMATIC ET 200SP is based on IO-Link specification V1.11. One of the benefits ist storage of IO-Link device parameters (and maser parameters) in the master. This means that when a device is replaced, the current parameters are automatically transferred to the replacement IO Link device - without any additional application outlay for the user.
