The Atlas Power Project installed 225 MW Diesel Power Station, including a 17 MW Steam Turbine. The plant that is connected to the National grid of WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority) was the first venture with MAN Diesel (Germany) and was followed by a 25 MW power plant for Soelen Cement Iraq and the successful implementation of a 70 MW power plant for Yanbu Cement Saudi that expanded this facility to 175 MW capacity, making it the world's largest diesel power plant integrated in a cement factory.
Siemens developed state-of-the-art automation laboratories for two of the leading engineering universities of Pakistan: the University of Engineering & Technology (NED) in Karachi and the University of Engineering & Technology (UET) in Lahore. The technology included latest versions of Programmable Logic Controllers, Field Instrumentation and Human Machine Interface devices.
Siemens is in Pakistan the first value-added reseller of SAP, the leading company in the market of enterprise applications in terms of software and software-related service, having supplied and installed various modules of SAP in several leading national and multi-national organizations within Pakistan and globally. Siemens is also the first SAP Partner in Pakistan to have established support services center to provide consistent and effective support to over 55 SAP customers. Till date, more than 1500 SAP consultants have been trained at this center.
Having a well established local set-up allows Siemens Industry to design, plan, engineer, execute and service at the ‘grass-root’ level in order to minimize downtimes and increase industrial productivity.
